Complementary Split-Ring Resonator With Improved Dielectric Spatial Resolution

A nondestructive complementary split ring resonator (CSRR), working in the 0.5 to 6 GHz frequency range, is presented this work. Three CSRR designs, on same 5 mm by footprint, with different internal dimensions were designed, fabricated, and measured. The results demonstrate a large shift resonant frequency, up 2.544 GHz, over broad relative permittivity range from 1 80, penetration depth, 7 mm, into material under test. Secondly, work presents deconvolution-based method increase spatial resolution of sensors compared other sensing structures algorithms. conformal mapping function relating was fitted through measurements point spread (PSF) derived known dielectric distribution. Experimental demonstrated that extracted PSF able reconstruct distribution six scenarios. Additionally, 2 has been established according Rayleigh criterion, objects smaller than size sensor have reconstructed as well. Objects values can be distinguished images good signal-to-clutter ratio 12.0%, which smooth recovered background, no offset present between original objects.
